Recount Text : A Broken Plan

            Last New Year, I spent my whole night at home. It was very boring because that was a new year but I just stayed at home doing nothing. It was so annoying indeed because I had a very pathetic memory on that day.           

 It began when our dad broke his promise to celebrate the New Year eve together with us because of his sudden changing schedule in his office. Then I said in a whisper to my little brother “Ooh shame! How could a sudden breaker thing happen in this special night?” You know, I called it as a special night because that was our Mom’s birthday. Besides New Year, Mom also had a birthday on that time. Can you imagine how pathetic that was? I had prepared everything like a sweet cake made by me, delicious foods I bought, snacks, and other special things we had prepared.            

It was very heartbreaking but continued celebrating Mom’s birthday and the New Year eve without Dad’s appearance. Ridiculously, Mom did not notice that it was her birthday. At the end, I smiled and felt relief because we had succeeded in making such a surprise to her.
